What materials are used in the roll forming process?

Steel, aluminium, titanium, copper and brass

The most common materials used are cold and hot rolled steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper and brass. Surface-treated materials, which are galvanized and powder coated and also highly-polished nickel-plating, for instance, can be used in roll forming due to the gentle processing method.

High-strength materials

High and ultra high strength steels (UHS, UHSS) and Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) are gaining increasing prominence in the roll forming industry, since they make it possible to produce products from much thinner stock. Consequently, the finished product will be lighter yet still have the same strength. The use of high strength materials also means a reduced environmental impact through a minimal use of materials.
