In the autumn of 2020, we installed a completely new test and setup machine with 48 forming stages. The machine runs offline, thus freeing up capacity and reducing downtime in our other roll forming lines which are in continuous operation.
In the new test and setup machine we have the opportunity to test run completely new profiles, without disturbing the rest of our production. Innovative roll forming allows us to meet our customers’ requirements, even when it comes to manufacturing more complex profiles. Each profile is unique and requires a “running-in’ period that previously occurred in regular roll forming machines, the ones we call online machines. Now we can let this process take place in parallel with other runs, which not only increases our total capacity, but also expands the possibilities of producing more complex profiles in accordance with our customers’ requirements.
There are also environmental and economic benefits as, by running a test series, we reduce our total material consumption.
