Originally trained as a vehicle mechanic, Tawa chose to work in warehousing and production at various companies. After a train trip through Europe, he got a tip from his stepfather to apply for a job at Bendiro. On the Friday after he landed at home, he sent in his application – and already on Monday he started working in our production as a machine operator.
“It was tough at first because it was a completely different type of production than I was used to. I had to go along and learn, but I immediately felt that Bendiro was a workplace where I thrived and wanted to develop further.
Tawa’s drive and desire to learn more meant he quickly took on more responsibility. After a few years, he became a machine setter, then a team leader, and most recently a project manager for one of our major export projects.
“I like to challenge myself and see opportunities. Right from the start I had fantastic role models. One of them was, and is, our design engineer Jörgen Hjertman. He has always been educational and solution-oriented. For him, there are no problems that cannot be solved – an attitude I adopted early on. My goal was to one day be like Jörgen, a person who helps in all situations, finds solutions and supports colleagues.”
With his positive attitude and solution focus, Tawa personifies what we at Bendiro want to be synonymous with our brand and us as a supplier.
Working on a project basis is relatively new to us at Bendiro, and it is something we will develop further. With our new premises, we have the opportunity to produce single profiles for specific projects, which opens up even more flexible manufacturing for our customers.
”Our latest project consisted of eight different profiles for a unique solution. This placed high demands on us as a manufacturer and supplier, as we usually work with longer series. As a project manager in this type of project, a close and constant dialog with purchasing, technicians, operators and warehouse is required to ensure that everything is delivered correctly and on time.”
Tawa says his experience from different roles within the company has been a great advantage in his current job.
“I have an understanding of the whole process, which makes it easier to plan and solve challenges. But what really makes a difference is that we have a team where everyone has the right mindset and works in a goal-oriented way.”
In his spare time, Tawa enjoys football, golf and padel – sports where team spirit and strategy play an important role.
”I’m very excited about the future and being part of Bendiro’s growth and development is extremely exciting. There is every opportunity to grow and develop here if you just want to and show your feet. I would like to say that at Bendiro you can go as far as you want!”
