A brand new roll forming line has been installed and is now in full operation here at Bendiro. The machine line is yet another step in our development journey, and means we can offer our customers even higher production capacity.
Tobias Johansson, Technical Manager and project lead for the new machine project
”This time around, we’ve opted for a slightly different solution than the ones in our existing machines. We want to continuously develop and test new approaches to create opportunities for increasingly advanced punching patterns and profile shapes, according to the wishes we see are becoming more common among our customers. The machine can run at a higher speed, with higher precision. In the machine we can process open profiles of every conceivable cross-section, in thicknesses of 0.5 to 3 millimetres. Our customers should always feel that we’re ahead of the game and can offer optimised manufacturing solutions, both in terms of volume and quality.”
The right profiles in the right machine
“The new machine affords us the best possible foundation to increase our capacity. We can now increase the volume throughput of profiles in production by running the ‘right’ profiles in the right machine, thanks to a well-considered mix of different roll forming lines with different grades, and opportunities for integrated operations.”
Short break-in process
“As Technical Manager and lead for this machine project, I’m incredibly impressed at how quickly we got up and running with the new machine. Virtually everything has gone to plan, despite a few logistical disruptions due to Covid. Alongside our suppliers, we took great care with the preparations, which made the break-in process unusually short. It has quite simply run smoothly from the word go.”
Another machine line starting soon
“Thanks in part to the new machine, we reported an all-time high in production capacity at the beginning of the year – a record we believe we’ll be beating again soon. The fact is that we’re so happy with the new machine line that we’ve already ordered a twin version, which should be in place and up and running in the autumn.”
Investments in the whole
“Bendiro is currently in a very exciting phase of development, not only in terms of technical progress but also with our working environment, where we’re investing in new lighting, staff space, ventilation and heating systems. Altogether it lifts the whole company, and makes Bendiro a truly fun and interesting place to work.”
